This year’s Met Gala theme? A glorious deep dive into “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and it was sharp. This year’s Met Gala Magic featured razor-edged silhouettes, opulent fabrics, and a bold embrace of individual style that felt both vintage and vital. The carpet was a masterclass in sartorial swagger, with perfectly sculpted suits and flamboyant details stealing the show. It was a powerful reminder of fashion as intentional art, inspiring us to appreciate the impact of sharp tailoring and maybe even inject a little dandy flair into our own looks.
This year’s Met Gala theme, inspired by Barnard professor Monica Miller’s “Slaves to Fashion,” dives into Black dandyism and how style shapes Black identity across the Atlantic. We expect a celebration of sharp looks and individual expression, especially menswear, with a “Tailored for You” dress code and we were not disappointed. These were our favorite looks of the night. #MetGala #ExtremeTailoring #Dandyism #metgalamagic
