As we wind down the first days of having a new puppy, we finally slept a full night (celebratory drinks all around! sparkling water that is) and celebrated our first Valentine’s Day together.
Dashi’s First Valentine’s Day with us. She’s cooperating because she knows the treats will follow suit.
Valentine’s Day
We celebrated with a big bowl of stir-fried soba noodles with ground beef for the humans and an extra dabble of peanut butter as a treat for Dashi.
We hung up Conversation Hearts Banner by happy bark days on the TV set (our apartment doesn’t have a mantel so gotta improvise). Gina bought fresh flowers at Traders Joes. Dashi loves fresh flowers, too.
She posed nicely for the camera! done with generously given treats and a swift product (she has the attention span of a teaspoon).
We created happy bark days because dog party decorations on the markets were just pink and just blue decoration for girl and boy dogs.
It was all just so basic. So bleh.

Dashi’s Loves
After a few days at home, we learned a lot about puppy. Dashi definitely has tastes. She knows what she loves, hates, and will tolerate (just enough to not destroy it).
LOVES: her giraffe. It is in our go-bag. It’s that good. This is the duck version, and you can get the giraffe via the link.
LOVES: her travel carrier. We train her in it everyday with yummy kibble. She will hop into it and expect treats. It’s cozy and a great size.
Dashi’s Hate It List
HATES: her first crate. To be fair, she outgrew it almost immediately and it was way too small.
HATES: BATHS. It’s a NO for her.
Dashi’s Tolerance List
TOLERATES: her leash. She will chew it! She added a bitter apple spray to our list of essentials. We can attest that It is a good investment.
TOLERATES: Daily brushings. So long as her Giraffe is present.
