Faith, Family, & Flour: A Sweet Celebration for National Bundt Day
Hey, friends! Get your spatulas and aprons ready, because November 15th is National Bundt Day!
That’s right, there is an entire day dedicated to that beautiful, swirly, delicious cake with the hole in the middle. And in our home, we think any day that encourages baking, sharing, and gathering as a family is a sweet blessing.
This isn’t just about eating cake (though that’s a very fun part!). It’s about the joy of creating something together. It’s about the warmth of the oven, the smell of vanilla and cinnamon filling the house, and the smiles on your kids’ faces.
As Christians, we’re called to fellowship, and what better way to do that than by “breaking bread” (or, in this case, cutting a slice of cake)? It’s a simple, tangible way to share God’s goodness and show love to our family and neighbors.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

Why We Love This Classic Cake
Bundt cakes are a family favorite for so many wonderful reasons:
- Beautifully Simple: The special, fluted pan does all the “fancy” work for you! A simple dusting of powdered sugar or a quick glaze is all it takes to make it look stunning.
- Perfect for Kids: The recipe is usually a simple “dump and mix,” which is perfect for little helpers. They love helping to pour, stir, and (of course) “test” the ingredients.
- Made for Sharing: The ring shape just feels like community. It’s easy to slice and perfect for bringing to a church potluck, a small group, or dropping off on a neighbor’s porch.
- Endless Flavors: From a classic vanilla to a rich chocolate, a fall-themed apple cider, or a zesty lemon… there’s a Bundt cake for everyone!
A “Pup-Bundt” for Your Best Friend
Of course, anytime the mixer comes out and the oven heats up, there’s usually a certain furry family member sitting right at our feet, offering their full moral support (and hoping for crumbs!).
But wait! As much as we love sharing, a regular Bundt cake is NOT safe for your dog. It’s packed with sugar, butter, and sometimes toxic ingredients like chocolate, raisins, or xylitol (an artificial sweetener).
But don’t worry, your loyal companion doesn’t have to miss out on the fun! You can make them their very own “Pup-Bundt.”
- Get a Mini-Pan: Use a mini-Bundt pan (or even just a muffin tin).
- Mix a Safe “Batter”: A simple, dog-safe batter is all you need! Try mixing:
- 1/2 cup plain pumpkin puree (NOT pie filling)
- 1/2 cup whole wheat or oat flour
- 1 egg
- A tablespoon of XYLITOL-FREE peanut butter
- Bake & Cool: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool COMPLETELY.
- Add a “Frosting”: Top it with a tiny smear of plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt or a little more peanut butter.
Now everyone in the family has a special, safe treat to enjoy.
