Hello friends, today’s post is about PDS, Picky Dog Syndrome.
After her first heat cycle, Dashi’s appetite has never really been the same…
this was a dog that would down her food like a hot dog eating competitor.
And lately, Dashi was showing no interest in eating. It was bizarre.
After Chinese New Year (read our post here) we decided to check her into Vet care.
Post- Vet visit, which cost us $700 (!) we find out that Dashi has a very serious case of PDS.
Picky Dog Syndrome.
These are our weapons of choice to battle this serious case of Picky Dog Syndrome.
Dog Puzzle
Puppy just needs to work for their meals to encourage their appetite.
Dog Probiotics
Sometimes, puppy bellies are sensitive. We helped Dashi to get back on track with the help of probiotics. She loves the bison-flavored tablets.
Puppy needs plenty of fresh water. We visited family and Dashi loved drinking out of this fountain. Consider this or a more modern one. It all feeds the same.
Food Toppings
Salmon skin is an excellent topper we found to add to Dashi’s food. We mix salmon skin from Trader Joes and her kibble with a bit of goat milk.
We will see if this helps kick PDS to a thing of the past.
